Guest Designer at My Mum's Craft Shop | February 2017

Hello there, today I have the absolute pleasure to be Guest Designing at My Mum's Craft Shop for the month of February, Kitty who is the owner of My Mum's Craft Shop is such super talented designer and her online shop is stocked with such array of choice for your crafty needs including the big stamp brands from the USA, do pop on by and take look as it's definitely worth a visit. When Kitty asked me to be guest designer for February I was utterly delighted and couldn't say yes quick enough.

Started with grey A2 US card blank folded at the top. Created a stitched rectangle panel (slighter smaller than the card blank) within the Silhouette Studio Software, place a sheet of neenah solar white card on cricut mat and cut out the panel using the Silhouette machine. Using my diy stamp tool, I stamped the smaller cat from MFT Cat-itude stamp set first with Versafine onyx black ink, then stamped the same image on to piece of sticky note and fussy cut out to create a mask and placed this over the original stamped image.

Then stamped the larger cat just to the side of the little cat. Coloured in the image with WH Smith artist quality colouring pencils and created a soft scene around the two cats to make the cats look more grounded. Applied double sided foam tape to the back of the panel and adhered to the card blank. Took a strip of grey card and rubbed over the card with cornflour (anti static) and using the "You're A Perrfect Friend " sentiment from MFT Cat-itude stamp set, stamped it onto the strip of card using Versamark Watermark stamp pad, poured over WOW bright white embossing powder and heat set with heat tool.

Applied a strip of double sided foam tape to the back and adhered this just right of the cats. Finally added a few iridescent sequins adhering them with micro glue dots.

I simply adore cats and I'm always watching those cute cat videos on YouTube, Do you have a love for cats too?. Thank you to the lovely Kitty for choosing me to be a guest with her and her super talented design team.

Combine Craft Haul | February 2017

Hello there, today I have combine craft haul to share with you, Well I decided to give myself a little treat and purchase some products that I've been wanted for some time. Luckily I didn't go mad spending wise and still being careful what I spend my money on and just getting the things I really want.

Memento dew drop ink pads - Decided to purchase the remaining ink pads in the Memento dew drop range, as these are great quality and also find them so easy to store with them being little. When space is at premium these I would highly recommend having these in your craft stash.

Dina Wakley Media Palette Knife - Never had one of these palette knives before as I don't tend to do much mix media but thought it would be handy to have for using with texture paste. Can't wait to give it a try and see how I get on with it.

Creative Expressions Adhesive Eraser  - Another product that as been on my wanted list for such a long time, this is so handy for getting a leftover pieces of adhesive off your projects instead of ruining your work.

Crafter's Companion Printable Inkjet Acetate - These was definitely a must for be as I was running out of acetate and thought why not purchase the printable version as I've never tried this printable acetate before. Again I can't wait to see the results.

It's nice to treat yourself to something you have been waiting for some time and glad I've manage to pick these up. Have you treated yourself this month too?

Interested in the products purchase, I've prepared a list below just click on the wording or images to taken to the stores that I've used. No affiliate links.

Iced Coffee - Cream & Sugar | Doodlebug

Hello there, today I'm sharing a card that was inspired by a super adorable cut file I notice in Silhouette Store and just had purchase it and do something with it. The fact it's a Doodlebug image is even better because I've never had any Doodlebug products so when I found out that some of their collections are now available to use with Silhouette, I jumped at the chance of finally getting my hands on Doodlebug designs.

Cut a sheet of  A4 white card down to A2 US card blank landscape card, opened the Silhouette Software firstly cut a scalloped stitched panel using cricut mat and sheet of neenah card just slightly smaller than card blank, next cut Valentine's out of Crelando red card using Megan font purchased in the Silhouette Store. Placed the crelando red card on the cricut mat and cut out and then created a offset slightly smaller and cut that out of Paperchase Transfusion space dust vellum (currently unavailable to purchase)

Next using the print and cut option I cut out the Iced Coffee - Cream and Coffee Doodlebug image, assemble the image using double sided foam tape for added dimension, added the rosy cheeks with zig glue pen, for that added shimmer I spray some sheer shimmer spray sparkle on a ceramic tile and small paintbrush and brushed the shimmer on the cream and the sugar cubes (this is a more thriftier version of wink of Stella and works so well). Run the scalloped stitched panel through my cuttlebug
in using a diy embossing folder from a earlier post I created on my Blog. Applied piece of funky double to the back of the panel using double sided tape and adhere onto the A2 US card blank.

Adhered the Valentine's sentiment using zig fine glue pen on the back of the sentiment then placed onto the vellum, add a little zig fine glue pen to the back of the vellum and adhered on card blank just to the right of the landscape card. Placed double sided tape to the back of the Iced Coffee image and adhered to the card blank just left of the sentiment. Using my diy stamping tool and the Winnie and Walter - The big, The bold and the Happy stamp set stamped happy and day on strip of neenah card using versa fine onyx black ink pad and cut down to fit and applied double sided foam tape to the back and place on above and below the valentine's sentiment. To finish added a few iridescent sequins and adhered them with micro glue dots.

I think this will start a whole new love affair with Doodlebug Designs and will be back purchasing those sweet cut files from the Silhouette Store very soon. Do you love Doodlebug Designs too?

This will be entered into these challenges -
