Waffle Flower Monkeys

Hello there, hope your having relaxing Sunday wherever you are the world, I've spent this weekend cutting out with Ciaran the cameo (my nickname for my Silhouette cameo machine) I know to some it may sound a bit sad, but I have always called my machine Ciaran, since I purchased him. I just couldn't be without him either.

Plus I had to use my brand NEW waffle flower photopolymer stamps that I recently purchased and thought it would be perfect for this card I've made especially for little boy who's birthday is not that long off.

First I folded piece of card measuring 27.3cm x 10cm in half at the top, next took a strip of the PC monkey washi tape and applied this to the left hand side. Using the Silhouette Cameo I created rectangle and type the name Jenson using Arial font (bold) and place just slightly higher than the bottom of the rectangle, opened Craft Artist software and type in Happy 4th Birthday using Mister Sirloin BTN rare bold font in purple colour. Exported this as PNG and open this in SC software and place it just above the name Jenson.

Now using the print and cut system I cut it out , placed a small piece of lime green card on the card blank just to the bottom right of the card. Adhere EVA foam with double sided tape to the back of matt I have already cut out on the SC. Now adhere the back of that same foam with double sided tape and adhere it to the card blank. Adhering the leftovers of the e and the o with Zig fine glue pen.

Stamped WF willy and friends monkey stamp with memento tuxedo black ink and acrylic block, on to piece of Neenah solar white card then coloured the little monkey in with Spectrum noir pens then cut him out with no white edge and adhere him pinflair glue gel. Finally added some clear droplets that I made using dried Anita's gloss glue and adhere to the card using Zig glue pen.

Discount Craft Haul

Hello there, I am bring you a little craft haul today for a few items I've purchased recently and all are available from discount stores in UK. I do love getting a bargain and get more for my money, as the purse does get a little stretched at times. Do keep your eye out for bargains in the discount stores as most of the company's I'll be mentioning do get new stock in quite regularly.

First item I am going to show you is something that was brought to my attention by fabulous Facebook friend!! (thanks Rachael) she told me about this Crelando card sometime ago and wanted some ever since, but as it was from Lidl I had to wait until it was available, as Lidl bring out sorts of items every week apart of their special buys. So last week Rachael kindly reminded me that it was available from last Monday...yippee!! so I picked up three packs of the cardstock which is 270gsm and two packs of the paper 135gsm (almost like the lighter version of card really) If you can do pop down and get some as its excellent quality and lovely colours too. Retails at £1.99 each,

Other best buy I had to mention was this Colvin and Co Artist and hobby brushes that I'd picked up in Home Bargains for only £3.49 for 25 brushes including the special foam brushes. They are really good for the money and stand up really well and I found them just perfect for me, especially for when I'm watercolouring.

Well the next few items to show you are for my planner / organiser, (yes I can't believe it myself) it all started when I was watching YouTube videos and seen so many planner videos, it just made me want to get organised. The fancy planners that are out there right now, are very lovely and so pretty but are totally and utterly out of my league, so set about creating my own. Checking out the local discount stores I found tons of items just perfect for my planner and suits my budget.

I will be decorating and getting it all created shortly and will do blog post to show you how I get on and give you some inspiration on creating your very own planner.

Your inner Rock Chick

Hello there, well I have been busy playing with my spectrum noir marker pens and decided to use the image I've been colouring in for the latest Make it crafty DT call, I absolutely adore this company and Zoe (the owner) is so super talented and she draws these hip and trendy characters. I would love to be MIC girl as this would be dream come true (wish me luck guys!!) I knew I had to up my game for this DT call as the current team is amazingly talented and come up with such original designs.

First of all create a card blank from 29.4 x 9.7cm Portofino white card folded at the top, using Serif Craft Artist firstly create heart and used the Tres Joyful digi stamp and cropped the image to fit the heart shape.

Saved that image and open the Silhouette cameo software and trace the outer section of the heart then draw a rectangle around it to fit this card and cut wave effect across the bottom half of the card.

Then I used the print and cut system on SC and printed it out and cut it on SC, time for the colouring (my favourite bit) always willing to practice my colouring.

Once the colouring is finish, cut stripe of the zentangle backing paper and adhere with double sided tape. Then adhered wave matt using double sided foam tape, cut birthday on SC three times and glued them together and adhered this with Kuretake zig fine glue pen. Stamped happy with W&W stamps on portofino white card and cut rectangle and adhere this with double sided foam stamp above the birthday. Added some rock chick inspire white dots with white pen on the birthday cut out. Added with three adhesive gems that was coloured with SN true black marker pens, to finish I used uni posca pen to add highlights to the hair.

This card was inspired by finding your inner rock chick, I do love U2 and thought why not bring that into my cardmaking. Tres Joyful suits the Rock Chick style so well.

Colouring with watercolour

Hello there, well I am back again with another creation that I managed to do yesterday. My inspiration for this card started when I recently picked up some lovely watercolour card from The Works, it gave me the excuse to get my watercolour pencils out and start playing.

Started with 29.2cm x 9.9cm folded at the top, next is to create blue card matt slightly smaller than the blank card and adhere it with double sided tape. I then cut a piece of the watercolour card down to make it slightly smaller than the blue card, making sure it had equal frame all the way round.

Stamped the Bebunni rubber stamp using versafine onyx black ink pad on the watercolour card, then stamped the same image again on some scrap copy paper and cut that image out, sprayed CC stick and spray on the back and masked the bebunni image. Using TH tumbled glass distress ink and latex smoothie, I blended gently around the image using the technique of tapping the first ink onto scrap piece of paper. Taken the mask off to show the image underneath.

Now I coloured the image in using Faber Castell colour grip watercolour pencils and Kuretake water pen to blend the colour out. Once finished colouring the image, I did use my heat tool to dry it quickly instead of leaving it to dry.

Using some glitter pens, I gently went over parts of the image to highlight the image. Finished off by using some portofino card and stamping the sentiment from CB stamps mini messages with memento tuxedo black ink pad. Cut the sentiment down in rectangle and adhere it with pinflair glue gel. Added three adhesive pearls to accent the card.

Thanks..Inspired by

Hello there, well I thought you would like to see my latest creation that I'd made earlier this week, yes you are right it includes Lawn Fawn stamps again!! Since purchasing these stamps last month I've not be able to put them down. You may know Michelle Short already, well I love her style and she gives me so much inspiration, so that is the basis of this design..inspired by Michelle.

First take 29.5cm x 10.2cm card and fold at the top. Printed the pink stripe card and cut down the card to 4.6cm x 14.6cm and adhere to the blank card. Cut piece of portofino white card to 14.8cm x 8.5cm, next I cut the tag using portofino white card and cut it out using the Silhouette Cameo then ran it through the Cuttlebug using CC textures embossing folder.

Using the CB die, I cut out the thanks sentiment then ink it with perfect medium, pour on silver embossing powder and heat set with heat gun. Did the same for the three Lawn Fawn flowers but this time using dotty pattern paper.

Adhered the white matt on the card blank using Fun Foam to give some dimension. Next I attached the tag with pinflair glue gel and arranged the flowers in set of three slightly overlapping. Using Kuretake Zig fine glue pen on the back of the thanks sentiment, so I could adhere to the tag. Finally adding three sequins, glued down with pinflair glue gel.
